QR code for immigration clearance at complexes towards Singapore from June 1, says Fadillah

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof announced that a quick response (QR) code system will be implemented for immigration clearance at the Sultan Iskandar Building (BSI) Customs, Immigration, and Quarantine (CIQ) Complex and the Sultan Abu Bakar Complex (KSAB) in Johor Bahru starting from June 1. During the three-month proof-of-concept phase, only Malaysians will be involved. The QR code system will initially apply to Malaysians traveling to Singapore by bus and motorcyclists using the MBike immigration clearance system at the BSI and KSAB. The implementation aims to significantly reduce waiting times for travelers during peak hours. In March, Singapore introduced a similar initiative using QR codes for faster immigration clearance at its Woodlands and Tuas checkpoints.
